Planning for the sports club began in 2008, and, through coordination with the preparatory committee, preliminary operations and program planning began in 2010. The insight gained from these preliminary initiatives led to the creation of a student program, which was designed to fulfill the club's mission of strengthening the relationship between students and the local community and deepening students' learning. As a result, when the club opened in September, recreational classes were added to give university students a chance to mentor elementary school students and toddlers.
