But reports in newspapers tend to stress, somewhat light heartedly, the conflicts between the government and the central bank in the process of decision-making. The process should therefore be fully analyzed, as it is such an important matter. Responsibility for economic policy rests with the government, with the exception of monetary policy, controlled by the central bank because of the need to ensure the stability of prices. However, changes in monetary policy influence the employment situation, the balance of payments and economic growth, all of which are the object of government economic policies, and which often have a trade-off effect in relation to the stability of prices. Hence arises the cause of the controversy.
