In this paper is analyzed the development of policies and prospects on Tanzania, whose location is in the Sub-Sahara Africa, one of the poorest areas in the world. In spite of the improvements of some macro-economic indicators, such as GDP, export peformance and consumer price, Tanzania is still suffering from twin deficits of government budget and current balance of payments, which have made her seriously dependent on foreign donors. Needed are much efforts in Tanzania : to stabilize macro-economic situation ; to strengthen the industrial infrastructure ; to increase productivity ; to make a drastic reform in the parastatal branch, etc. But we should bear in mind the importance of social development such as poverty alleviation, health care service, and education. Tanzania has much room to improve in this area.
