As the government is responsible to the congress for execution of policies, it should control the central bank and execute monetary policy which is one of overall economic policies. On the other hand it is argued that the central bank should be independent from the government because it bears the responsibility of maintaining the value of currency it issues. It is generally accepted that increases of money and inflation are apt to occur due to the strong demands of politicians in the state of parliamentry democracy without independence of the central bank. Nowadays market economy has been dominant since the fall of socialist nations. Most nations such as EU countries have launched out to the independence of the central bank.
