Among the important points are the Japan's lowest self-sufficient ratio for grain and its world's largest importer of food. The remarkable change of "food system" in Japan is shown.The second part examines the debates on the agricultural trade liberalization in the WTO including the exporters' attacks and importers' defenses. Focal points are reduction of various kinds of protection, "multifunctionality" of agriculture and "food security". The third part analyses the progress of FTA Programs of agricultural trade liberalization among ASEAN and Japan, China, and Korea.
