This paper focuses on the background of the developments and sustainability of the economic policies of those governments.The first section tries to analyze the background of the emergence of leftist governments in Latin America from the view point of resistance against the economic globalization propelled by the United States, IMF and the World Bank, and lucky opportunity of the price appreciation of natural resources.The second section examines the Bolivian case: one of the most marginalized country from the globalization trend except hydrocarbon gas trade.
